HQ is the fruition of many years thorough research into the market for a database and workflow software solution. I wanted to harness the opportunity that IT could provide to support and manage a clinical service. We wanted the latest software with a sound basis for modern workflow management.

The key functionality we were searching for was the ability to delegate work to my team and obtain the feedback and control that goes with this.

The care of my patients is paramount and it was essential that our workflow systems were carefully managed, safe and robust. I also wanted access to our patient information from anywhere in the world, be it the Far East, the States or the UK. Nothing ticked all these boxes, particularly with regards to robustness and workflow management, until I came across HQ. Other software solutions weren’t complex enough to support our needs and do away with paper notes.

An independent assessment of HQ was carried out which found that 60% of its functionality is not available elsewhere in the market and that the technology was two years ahead of its time. Our IT team particularly liked HQ’s workflow functionality and its potential for wider use within the NHS. HQ will allow us to keep all our patient information in one robust, searchable database and so enable us to work smarter. We’re at the forefront of a very complex service redesign and HQ is key to making our work streams more effective. It’s so exciting to be working on these developments.

Training is integral to the offer and all members of our 16-strong team were using the software very effectively in a short space of time.
